A peaceful bowl, reminiscent of sumie painting with a dark smokey grey face against the pale background of the inner surface. The surface is dappled like a breeze has rippled the surface of a pond.
The flame has softened the bowl in the kiln, causing it to move from a uniform circular shape. Igusa hidasuki markings remind me of twigs and stalks of grass, and fly ash gives slight mossy patches the bowl curves down to a shallow chadamari of subtle throwing rings.
The foot is clearly defined with a firm, orange blushed turning spiral in the centre. The shell marks are dark, with a small indentation left in the foot ring by their removal. The flame colour on the chattering has a lustrous surface.
